Walk around with Medium
Val had a bad feeling when she entered certain areas of the library, she felt like there was someone in her face, this was also experienced by Andi.
Library Room with Computers (to the right of entrance)
Val was aware of a man who would walk close to people and he was not very happy about having people in the library during the night as well as during the day.
She was given the name ARTHUR and felt that this gentleman was wearing a flat cap and that he felt out of place here.
There was also a lot of disorientation in the room.
One of the group had seen a low light anomaly go across the far end of the room before we had entered.
Gallery
Val picked up on a smell of brick dust.
(Shelly could smell wet plaster)
Small Office
Val could smell cigar smoke and was aware of a whiskered gentleman. There was also a large dog (possibly linked to this man) with a big shaggy tail.
Top Office
Val felt disorientated and wanted to throw paper around.
(Mary could smell a burning smell like ash of a fire)
Staff Room
Val was asked to sit in a particular chair in the staffroom.
Here she felt her heart beating faster.
She felt that she would have been upright and correct in posture and maybe a little stern.
Sitting in the chair she felt she had to sit with her hands and legs crossed. She felt she was looking around for the first time seeing what was going on. (one of the library staff confirmed that she had seen a gentleman spirit sitting in one of the chairs with his legs crossed)
She felt she had gaunt hollow cheeks and the feeling of maybe suffering a stroke. She was experiencing a dry mouth and felt her hair being touched.
She also felt that this person may have suffered with Parkinson’s disease but was not aware of it.
(John was suffering with a pain across his head which went when we left the room)
Vigil 1
Group 1 – Staff Room – Planchette
The group had movement almost straight away and they established they had a male spirit with them and the letter W was spelt out, William, planchette moved for confirmation. They established that he worked at the library and was happy for the group to be there. He had a message for someone downstairs.
The group asked for the number of people sitting around the table to be written, and the number 7 was written (correct number). He said he was happy here and liked working in the library. When asked how many people work in the library he answered 9 (do not know if this means past of present).
He advised he was over 50 when he died. At this point Andi got a chill over her arm and the planchette moved to Mary. When asked if William was still thee, no answer was received. A bang was heard from above.
Andi started to experience a pain in her left temple/eye and a bad headache.
Rotten sewage could be smelt.
A member of the group was given the name David/Dave who was about 65yrs old and suffered heart problems. They felt they would have looked a bit like Del Boy with a gold bracelet and medallion. Was not sure why he was here, was out of place. Felt like a villain/wheeler dealer.
Don – word FENCE given

Don – early 70’s
Kate asked if this person was a gangster and the planchette moved when the name Kray was mentioned. A member of the group could understand this.
The planchette was re centred on the paper and number 7 was noticed.
Dave was still with them and brought someone else, initial V written.
Victoria – confirmed
David and Victoria passed together in a car crash (possibly silver Volvo) seemed they were boyfriend and girlfriend.
Shelly experienced an extreme burning on the back of her neck.
Group 2
Office/Gallery - Ginette
Jackie felt dizzy and cold
Paul smelt sick
Ginette felt a cat rubbing around her legs
A Couple of taps were heard
The group spent time calling out.
Group 3 Main Library- Glass Divination
Sharon and Val
The group had various contacts made with the glass.
Vernon age 36 (ideal age) passed in 1974, worked at library
And when asked if he knows he had passed he said goodbye.
The group experienced coldness around the table, dark shadows and also a fog appearing over the table. Some noises were heard within the room.
Some bright lights were seen in the corner of the room (no explanation for this) and a shadow seen behind Val.
There were also some personal messages for the team members.
Group Séance
The group did a séance with one of the team members sitting alone in a book alcove, where he kept feeling a pressure in his back.
During the séance there was coldness felt around the circle.
Val picked up on the name Walter and was aware of someone standing behind her. Some slight noises were heard.
There were some noises heard but the group could not determine whether or not it was the computers making it, so the noises were dismissed.
Vigil 2
Group 1 Office/Gallery
Sharon and Val
The year 1912 was picked up along with a lady in a long black coat and a black bonnet.
The names Clarence, Christine, Margeret were picked up and a black shawl.
The group had tapping noises and also caught a cat meow on EVP. They also had a book fall off a shelf and a ruler move on the table.
Group 2
Library - Don
The group had strong personal messages coming through.
There was also a negative racist spirit that came through that Don asked to leave.
The glass indicated that the vigil should be stopped and Don was experiencing, tingling in his arms and was starting to feel uncomfortable, so Don decided to end the vigil.
Ross saw a light move across the end of the room.
Group 3
Staff Room - Ginette
Contact was made with a young boy called Oliver age 6, he said there were 8 spirits with us.
The group was interrupted by a loud bang, a door closing.
Ginette asked Oliver if a known spirit to the library ‘Mr Granger’ was with him and if he had banged the door. Oliver replied yes, we asked if Mr Granger if he wanted to talk, it would appear he was unhappy about the investigation and he was displaying anger on the planchette.
He then tried to block other spirits from communicating and the group asked him to step back and allow others to come through. Ginette saw a shadow go across the paper which seem to coincide with Mr Granger leaving.
One of the group sat in a chair where earlier Val had sat and she described what she was feeling, which was quite accurate to what Val had described earlier in the evening.
3rd Vigil
Group 1 Library - Ginette
The glass started moving almost immediately and some unpleasant words were spelt out so this spirit was asked to step back and leave.
All of the lights came on in the main library and adjacent rooms so Ginette had to leave to go and switch them all off.
Personal messages came through for some members of the group, and the lights came on in one side of the room as confirmation to a question.
Contact was made with a gentleman called Burt who used to work at the library.
Ginette felt the urge to use bad language and Burt confirmed he used bad language.
He said he enjoyed it here and used the building when it was a drinking den and that he likes to stay here. He likes singing and humming whilst here.
He was asked to make a book come off a shelf, he appeared not to like this question and left.
Other personal messages were coming through, and the lights in the main library came on again.
The group decided to end the vigil when inconsistent messages were being produced as it was felt that the energy may not have been a good energy.
Group 2
Staff Room – Sharon and Val
The balloons that were on the ceiling in this room seemed to moved in response to answers of questions (natural movement and air flow cannot be ruled out for this)
A couple of bangs were heard.
Paul’s chair seemed to be vibrating and this also could be felt when other members of the group sat on it. (Unable to rule out possible under floor reason for this ie, pipe work electricity etc)
The energy that was on the planchette Val felt was not a good energy and she urged the group not to carry on with it.
So the group ended the session and sat in the dark calling out.
Some light anomalies were caught on the infared camera.
Group 3
Office/Gallery - Don
Limited notes taken on this vigil. There were 3 of the group who felt uncomfortable enough to leave the room and 1 of the group joined group 1 on the glass divination.
Conclusion
The team felt that the evening had gone very well, there had been some personal information received for group members and also some information to do with people connected to the library.
It appears some paranormal phenomena and auditory was witnessed.
We were able to verify some of the findings on the night and will continue to obtain as much verification as possible.
Our thanks go to the library staff who looked after us for the evening.
