Reigate Caves Report - 28th July 2007
CREW LEAD: Ginette Hobbs & Sharon Slatter
MEDIUIM: Pete GUEST MEDIUM: Brian
INVESTIGATORS: Don Ramkin, Andy Hobbs, Chris Darling, Kelly Gibson & Tony Darling
On the initial walk around Pete sensed there had been 3 men murdered in the tunnels and 1 of them would have been to do with money. He also felt that there would have been cheap labour used in the tunnels. As we moved further into the tunnels Pete sensed that there were children carrying bags and that they were huddled and frightened.Brian sensed a large area of energy – possibly a vortex.
Brian set up some light sensors which would come on when someone or something passed in front of it.The Sensors in the main tunnel did come on a couple of times but no explanation could be found and nothing showed up on the camcorder.
Group 1 Glass Divination
Sharon, Don, Andy, Brian
Don sensed a man standing by the wall. He was described as having brill creamed hair, overall, possibly a boiler suit and maybe a carpenter by trade.Brian sensed a man who wore chequered trousers, a high collar and was called ‘Henry’ he was the Governor of Workers and had family links with the other man.1475 may be relevant.
The group also heard footsteps and checked with group 2 to see if they had heard them, which they hadn’t. (it is possible the footsteps were coming from above the tunnels as we are not sure if there is any footpaths situated underneath where the group were sitting)
Other information received was: Home Guard, Air Raid Walden, Lantern on Walls & the name Smithers. Also a record/book regarding history ‘diary’ with a bad binding. The name HeraldSally ArmyAnd a boy called Tom 15 ¾ yrs old was standing by shorn trying to scare her. They also sensed that watches had been found with a time 4.30 and a female are with a male watch on it. The name Gladys.
Group 2 PLANCHETTE
Ginette, Pete, Chris, Kelly, Tony
Initially to start with there was no movement on the Planchette, then Ginette asked if there were any children present who wanted to speak and the group then had a good hour or more of communication.Written with the Planchette was the name HELEN CIPSTAM age 6She was with her siblings MARK 8, SIMON 11, mum and dad. ADAM 9. Simon liked Kelly and wanted to be by her, we asked him to touch Kelly so she knew he was there (nothing happened) The group asked various questions and then asked the children if they could duplicate shapes which were being drawn on a piece of paper.(each member of the group had a go at this and did not have their finger on the Planchette, also none of the remaining group could see what had been drawn) Out of the five pictures 3 were reproduced correctly, these were a flower, 2 triangles (on top of each other) and a shape of a house.
The group got confirmation that the children died in the tunnels but they seemed unsure as to what had happened. The children’s father then came through. His name was John and he was 54 and had brown eyes. His wife was called Mary age 36 and she also had brown eyes. They had 11 children in total, but had lost one baby.John drew the letter S and Ginette felt that they had all suffocated in the sand when there was a cave-in in the tunnel and that they would have been asleep when it happened as they were all together. This was confirmed by John and he advised that they had to live in the mines for short periods. It was felt they would have died around 1900.
Pete heard a belt being done up from the area behind the door where the group were. So Ginette went to investigate and this seemed to agitate Simon as he did not want anyone to go in there.
Group 1 PLANCHETTE
Sharon picked up on the name Henry Goldfinch. The group also picked up on the name Leonard Williams who had been brutally beaten by work colleges and they felt that Leonard would have stolen anything he found laying around, wither he had a drinking habit or owed money.Leonard wanted to go to the light but worried that judgement would be passed again.Brian’s guide reassured him.
Group 2 GLASS DIVINATION
During this experiment the group picked up the names Helen, and Bossy Bob who was a foreman. Also Charlie who was crushed in the tunnels in an accident. The rest of the time communication was made with Grandad Albert who was related to Chris, Tony and Kelly and this came with personal messages.
Lastly, the whole group stood in a circle to hold a séance where Pete had earlier heard the belt being done up. A lot of calling out was done and the initial feelings were that there was something going around the inside of the circle. When the group asked for a sign that someone was there Kelly received a prod (which was not welcomed by Kelly ) and unfortunately the session had to end.
All in all we had a good time at the tunnels, but unfortunately there is no records to verify our findings, however, we never give up and will continue to pursue what information we can.
